This site will feature regular updates, background information, and downloadable resources related to the Sauble Beach Piping Plovers.

It takes the support and cooperation of many people for endangered species to persist in some of the more human-altered ecosystems in Ontario. Sauble Beach hosts tens of thousands of visitors daily, and is home to year-round-residents. Maintaining a natural beach system with such high human use can be difficult. The return of the Piping Plover at Sauble Beach is a positive sign - with a little bit of understanding we hope to continue the Piping Plover's nesting success at this beach and others in Ontario, and contribute to the appreciation of important natural beach features. These features are not only important for the survival of species like the Piping Plover, but are vital to the long-term health of the beach system itself.
